Checklearn is designed for young developers and designers across Africa who are eager to elevate their skills and position themselves for impactful careers in the tech industry.

Our program caters to two distinct groups:

Entry-Level Batch

This batch provides a comprehensive foundational upgrade; guiding you through the basics, to ensure you build a strong understanding of core concepts while gaining hands-on experience in real-life projects.

Who Should Apply?

Recent graduates or career switchers with a passion for technology.

Individuals with a basic understanding of development or design.

Those seeking to build a solid foundation in tech.

Experienced Batch

This batch focuses on deepening your expertise, introducing advanced techniques, and connecting you with industry leaders who can help you refine your skills and expand your professional network.

Who Should Apply?

Individuals with at least 6-18 months of experience in development or design.

Individuals looking to refine their skills and take on leadership roles.

Those aiming to stay ahead of industry trends and innovations.

Program Requirements

While the Checklearn program is fully remote, it is not a pause-and-play type of experience. Success in this program requires a serious commitment to your learning journey. Here’s what you need to stay on track:

Commitment Hours

Participants should be prepared to dedicate a minimum of 15-20 hours per week to the program. This includes attending live sessions, completing assignments, and working on projects. Time management is crucial, as the workload is designed to mirror the demands of the tech industry.

Participation

Your active participation is vital. Whether in live sessions, group projects, or discussions, your engagement isn’t just about showing up—it’s about being present, contributing, and pushing yourself to grow. Your involvement is key to both your learning and the success of your peers.

Class Attendance

Attendance at all scheduled classes and sessions is mandatory. Our curriculum is carefully structured to build on each lesson, so missing a session can set you back significantly. We understand life happens, but consistent attendance is essential to fully benefit from the program.

Collaboration & Communication

As a remote program, communication is key. You’ll be expected to collaborate with peers, seek feedback, and regularly update your mentors on your progress. The tech industry values teamwork and effective communication, and so do we.

Before applying, please ensure that you can commit to the required study time and engagement level. This program is intensive, and while it’s designed to be flexible, it demands dedication.

Program Structure

Our program is designed in phases to ensure that participants gain a deep, practical understanding of their chosen discipline.

First Steps

This phase is designed to provide a solid foundation in the chosen discipline. Participants will learn the fundamental knowledge and tools essential to their specific field, whether it’s development or design.

Mainstage 1 (MS1)

This stage introduces participants to practical knowledge through real-life case studies. Students will begin by solving tasks that mirror challenges faced in the tech industry.

Main Stage 2 (MS2)

Building on the knowledge gained in Main Stage 1, students will engage with more complex scenarios. This phase emphasizes collaboration and the ability to work on multifaceted tasks that require a deeper understanding of their discipline.

Main Stage 3 (MS3)

In the final stage, participants work on full-project briefs that simulate real-world tech projects. This phase is designed to challenge students to apply everything they’ve learned in a comprehensive, end-to-end project.

Soft-Skill Integration

At Checklearn, technical skills alone won’t cut it—that’s why we weave essential soft-skill sessions into the main curriculum. You'll master communication, teamwork, and leadership, ensuring you're ready to thrive in any tech environment.
